PESHAWAR, February 14:: Defence Secretary, Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak has been appointed as a new Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, days after Mehtab Abbasi resigned from the position. Sources told Geo News on Sunday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given the go ahead to the above decision by signing a summary for the appointment of Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak as Governor KP.
Khattak had in the past served as Corps Commander Quetta and IG Frontier Corps (FC) for KP and Balochistan. Lt Gen (retd) M Alam Khattak will step down from the post of Secretary Defence after assuming the charge of Governor KP.-Agencies
