Western secularism is presented as a model for the developing countries to achieve the so called peace and prosperity. However, there are certain threshold situations where all such ideals seemed shattered and the concept of the west as beholder of goodness has become questionable. Especially while witnessing their attitude and dealings towards the Muslim migrants and their subsequent disposals. It has unfortunately conveyed a message of dichotomy and dual standards of the so called western secularism. Currently, themes of liberty and freedom of expression are ever increasing, but Intellectual Terrorism under such designs is calling for crisis in Pakistan particularly in the way of nationalist’s progress and Islamic ideological notions. These binary ideological forces are embodied by irrationality. Intellectual terrorism on the part of Islamic fanatics/extremism and radical secular extremists poses a great threat towards the very stability of Pakistan. Together they form a political and ideological clash by adopting the war of liberty, freedom and free will. Contemporary law and order situation in shape of Terrorism is dragging Pakistan towards instability which is a very blatant state of affairs. Besides this, intellectual Terrorism as a covert situation is misperceived by us due to our perceptional colored glasses. This will bring the long term instability which has the potential of creating a clash between secular and religious ideologies in the near future especially among our youth in shape of creating a dual nature or ideological confusion. Two extremes such as religious extremism and secular extremism are imposing their ideas on multiple sections of society through different channels. The unfortunate Mashal murder case is one of such example.
On the other end, the Civil-military establishment is no doubt making all efforts to counter terrorism at all fronts through continuous tactical operations such as Raddul Al-Fasad, but the existent challenge which is affecting the ideological foundation of our young generation is the injection of Western secularism through NGOs and pro-Western liberals. It is working like a slow poison which has being ignored since long. If we ignore this, then our future generation will have an anti-nationalist and pessimistic religious attitude in the coming era. At that point it will be very difficult for us especially to convince young generation about the reality of Two Nation theory and fundamentals of Islam could be seen as a baseless and ineffective approach towards achieving the destiny.
There is a dire need to present the true dimensional view by projecting the significance of Two Nation theory and its Islamic foundations otherwise the intellectual corruption done by us and our institutions at the constitutional, media, cultural and other levels will bring devastation and tug of war between these two ends/ extremes (secularists and Islamic extremists).
The main responsibility of the State is to create conducive environment to maintain the loyalty towards Islam and Pakistan to avoid any National Security threat. This national security threat is ideological under 21st constitutional amendment that depicts dire national security concerns. This can be done only by establishing an intellectual circle of writers, thinkers, scholars and relevant field experts to analyze the contemporary situation and find out the ways to overcome the acquired crisis at all levels keeping in view the intensity of crisis. It’s a dire need of the hour to build love and loyalty among youngsters towards Islam and Pakistan, and build a connection for them between nationalists and religious notions with which they can easily relate to. So that, at the end, the generation that we end up with is the fighting loyal of the nation and confirms to the rules of Allah Almighty as well.
Unfortunately, we do have those “so called” foreign funded intellectuals who just know how to grab appreciation from their Western bosses without understanding religious nationalist are values of Pakistan. The foremost duty of whole nation is to adopt productive measures to overcome the confusion regarding dual nature in terms of religion and nationalism. This will further help us to highlight Islamic fundamentalism in the modern political context as an attempt to attain an ‘Islamic State’ through political mobilization, revolutionary action or government legislation among masses by avoiding the Islamic and pro-secular extremisms, other wise intellectual terrorism will lead Pakistan into two way disaster.
