Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been given a high-potency ‘sobering’ drug by two Pulitzer Prize winning German reporters Bastian Obermayer and Fredrik Obermaier whose toil and commitment had led to the explosive disclosures known as Panama Papers.
She had been in a great hurry to formally occupy the richly-rewarding seat her crisis-ridden father has occupied thrice over a period of 26 years during which the world has ‘experienced’ an extraordinary tale of raw Political Power getting transformed into monumental Financial Fortune.
This arrogant ‘hurry’ had led her to churn out two extraordinary tweets one after the other.
In the first tweet she had rebuffed the reporters of the news that a high-powered Jaati Umra urgent meeting of the N-league wizards had led to the authorization of Shahbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to negotiate a peace-making settlement with the GHQ over the potentially explosive issue of Dawn ‘News-Plant’.
“No such authorization has taken place, and we are happy with the standoff” was the quintessence of the tweet.
In the second tweet she came under some kind of a divine inspiration to arrive at a sudden conclusion that the several-week long Panama Leaks hearings in the Supreme Court had been an exercise in absurdity, as Panama Papers had nothing to do with corruption and were sheer trash worthy of finding place in waste-basket or dustbin.
Both of these tweets did not land her in the Prime Ministerial chair. Instead contributed to her beleaguered father’s woes. The first tweet expanded the gulf between the PM House and the GHQ. The second tweet led to the German reporters telling Madam Maryam that Panama Papers were about nothing but corruption and corruption and corruption.
Madam Maryam was quick to retort with a savage condemnation of the designs of the reporters behind the Panama Papers. She accused them all of being blackmailers and self-serving adventurers out to try to bring down governments.
“See yourself with your own eyes morons…. Our government stands rocklike amidst the turbulent waters”, was the crux of her message to the Germans.
To this, Fredrik responded with ‘uncovering’ of some extraordinary documents telling loudly the tale of a corruption story with Maryam herself as a key character.
“Come on lady —deny there documents—” was the shrieking message of the key man behind the Panama Papers.
Maryam’s tweeting instincts have received a huge jolt. Her swearing-in ceremony has been put into DELAY mold.
