Pakistan’s greatest misfortunate today is that it does not have an English newspaper that reflects the longings of its masses, that champions the causes for which this country was created, and that present a positive image of its ethos, moral values and national aspirations. Dawn likes to present the ethos behind the creation of Pakistan as a degenerate philosophy, and loves to paint Pakistan’s military as a bunch of usurpers who are a permanent threat to democracy and its flag-bearers.
The News International on the other hand is a champion of false peace with India at the expense of Pakistan’s core national interests.
Some years back The Nation and The Muslim were credible voices of the value system that had created Pakistan but then a bunch of fashionable liberals and flag-bearers of secular thought took control of the English media, and today Pakistan has no journal that can talk to the world from the standpoint of the Core Beliefs that created this Nation-State.
Our English press is, as a matter of rule, remains daggers drawn with the institutions that have the responsibility of the National Security.
The English press virtually jumps at any opportunity that comes its way of presenting the Islamic Laws—specially the Blasphemy Law as a rape of human rights.
Why can’t we have an English Newspaper that is Pakistani in character?
