Dr Taimoor Sehar

In accordance to consider cow as a sacred animal in Hinduism, the cow urine which is also called “Gomutra” is said to be a panacea for all spiritual as well as physical disorders and diseases. India has a history of believing in urine therapy from thousands of years. Experts claims that a considerable number of contemporary Indian medicines which are available in Pakistani markets are doped with Cow urine or Gomutra. Ironically, Indians never mention it on these drugs, just to take advantage of consumer’s ignorance or ill information about these drugs.
It is strongly believed in Hinduism that Gomutra is beneficial in curing almost every disease specially cancer and diabetes. It is considered the cow urine a sacred thing to such a level that they believe adding of Gomutra in medicine purifies and enhances its efficacy. As far as this belief is restricted to personal or religious belief, it could be accepted but enforcing it on others without their knowledge is something objectionable. Most of the medicines produced in India are mixed with Gomutra. On the contrary of this, Muslims believes in purity and cleanliness. Urine of every animal is impure in Islam. Having urine or any kind of dirt restrict a Muslim from offering prayers. Taking urine in our medicines is totally beyond one’s thought. However, fact is that we the Muslims are taking these impurities inside our body in the shape of Indian medicine and that too without knowledge.
In Kanpur 2009, a cold drink containing 5 percent of distilled Cow urine was introduced. Similarly, products like soaps, shampoos and beauty creams are also made from Gomutra. Indian Minister for Women and child development Ms Manika Gandhi has proposed that Gaunyle be used instead of phenyl in government offices which is also made from Gomutra. In May 2015, Rajendra Singh Rathore, Minister for Medical and Health of Rajasthan inaugurated a Cow urine refinery in Jalore. In addition to this RSS has developed a Cow urine based soft drink called “Gomutra Ark”. The drink is promoted as an alternative to Coke and Pepsi. In 2012 college of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Wayond district started selling packaged Gomutra. Besides social media is full of such facts about Indians dishonesty of coating medicines with cow urine.
It is our sacred responsibility to sensitize and aware all Muslims of the world to avoid using all such Indian medicines, which contain cow urine. We have firm belief that a Muslim does not even think of having or using medicines which contain cow urine. Indians have launched rigorous campaign and supplied huge quantity of their medical products in Muslimcountries.
A large consignments of Indian medicines to Afghanistan is a common practice. India is taking advantage of their compulsions and vulnerabilities and without the knowledge of poor Afghans they are exporting urine coated medicines in Afghanistan.
After a close study and research, one becomes well aware about the caliber and purity of Indian products. The Halal aspect of foods or drugs of Indian origin cannot be trusted.Almost every field and sector in India seems to be over whelmed by Gomutra. This is alarming situation for every Muslim using Indian cheap medicines all around the globe. In fact taking medicines is a bitter experience, but to take it knowinglyabout its containment of Gomutara, makes it almost impossible for any sensible person in the world. Everyone needs treatment and cure with plausible and permit able standards. Muslims, who consider it nothing less than impurity and disgust , even for the Indian Muslims , it should be informed through social media that they should abstain from using all those Indian products which are contaminated with pathetic Gomutra in India and abroad.
Pakistan may often be at odds with neighboring India, but that has not stopped Indian products, especially in our major provinces and the Pakistan Afghan border. All sorts of medicines from India are sold in Pakistan without any serious checks, including the most commonly prescribed medicines. Now, it’s high time for Pakistan to check the import of Indian medicines into the market. The Pakistani pharmaceutical industry should come forward and focus on the indigenous medicine products and must bring into notice such issues to the relevant regulatory departments to check and oversee it for the common benefit of general public.
