ISLAMABAD, September 11: A delegation of 4th Year medical students from the Poonch Medical College, Rawalakot called on Sardar Masood Khan, President AJK at President Secretariat, Islamabad.
The students discussed their concerns on various administrative and academic issues relating to Poonch Medical College and the recent delay in the announcement of their results.
The students informed that due to various reasons they have been actively pursuing the VC, AJK University and the College administration; foremost of which was the delay of results for the past 5-6 months.
Sardar Masood Khan personally took keen interest in their issues and VC AJK University and Principal Poonch Medical College were taken on board to amicably resolve the genuine concerns of the medical students. The Principal informed the President of the announcement of third year results.
In the near future, all medical colleges will conduct their examinations under single medical university which will lead to a systematic and unbiased evaluation of medical students.
The President urged the students to approach the matter concerned in an orderly manner within the rules and regulation in order to address their issues without hampering their professional and academic responsibilities. “Students studying in AJK universities are the pride and future of our state and any stumbling block hampering their academic endevours will be promptly addressed.”, he said.
The President showed his concern over the unfortunate incident during the protest of the medial students and said he would personally look into the matter and resolve the same. He said that the administration needs to focus on letting go of the matter in order to facilitate students so that their education may face no such obstacles.
The AJK government, he assured, prides itself by prioritizing quality and research based education in order to fully utilize the potential of the students studying in various educational institutions throughout the Azad State of Jammu and Kashmir. -DNA
