India continues with its shenanigans to pressurize Pakistan, and for some time is following a new line of propaganda accusing Pakistan of supporting Jihadis of Myanmar. Recently, Indian media carried a concocted story that “Pakistan is backing Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) headed by Ammar Junjuni, a Karachi born Pakistani and trained by intelligence agencies”. The UN Security Council has criticised the Myanmar government for condoning violence against Rohingya Muslims in its Rakhine State leading to a humanitarian crisis with hundreds of thousands fleeing to neighbouring Bangladesh fearing persecution. Last month, Myanmar President Htin Kyaw held Rohingya militant group Aqa Mul Mujahideen (AMM) responsible for the attack. Apart from the UNSC, Pakistan issued a statement on 3rd September 2017 expressing deep concern over persecution, the growing number of deaths and forced displacement of Rohingya Muslims.
Although Maynmar has not given any statement about Pakistani militant groups support to ARSA, Hindustan Times narrated that Islamic fundamentalists such as the Afghan Taliban, Al Qaida’s Yemen Branch, Lashkar-e-Tayyeba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and other groups have called for attacks on Myanmar authorities in support of the Rohingyas. It went on to state: “The Rohingya displacement is a matter of serious concern but the root cause of increased animosity among the Burmans and other ethnic groups against the minority community should also not be glossed over. The international community has questioned Myanmar for the crisis but has forgotten the bloody contribution of Pakistan-based jihadist groups to this catastrophe. There is now evidence that little known AMM had emerged from Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami Arakan (HUJI-A), a Pakistan-based extremist outfit involved in espousing the Rohingya Muslim cause in Myanmar.”
Indian media is hell bent to show Pakistani militant groups connection with global terrorists. It carried news that HUJI-A is headed by Abdus Qadoos Burmi, a Pakistani national of Rohingya origin, closely associated with LeT chief Hafiz Saeed for militant and explosive training for radicalised Rohingya cadres. According to information available with intelligence agencies in Bangladesh and Myanmar, AMM leader Hafiz Tohar aka Abu Aman Jununi was trained in Pakistan. After training a few AMM recruits, new cadres were recruited from among the Rohingya youth in Rakhine State and refugee camps in Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazaar. The AMM cadre was trained along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, which saw large-scale testing of improvised explosive devices in 2014. It claimed that two out of four killed in IED blast while assembling the device were Pakistani nationals and the remaining two were local Rohingyas.
Rohingya Muslims’ enforced conversion to Buddhism, subjecting them to all sorts of violence and harsh treatment, denying them fundamental human rights and not accepting them as citizens with equal rights are some of the glaring excesses by the majority Bhudhists on the minority Muslims. In 2014, Dr. Mohammad Elmasry, Professor in University of Waterloo in his treatise in the Egyptian Gazzete had enumerated the different hardships the Rohingyas Muslims have historically undergone. He wrote: “They are subjected to various forms of extortion and arbitrary taxation, land confiscation, forced eviction and house destruction and financial restrictions on marriage. Rohingyas continue to be used as forced laborers on roads and at military camps”. Historically speaking, Rohingya Muslims arrived in Burma in early seventh century, but Myanmar military regime maintained that Rohingya Muslim immigrants came from India during British colonial rule. The régime refuses to issue them identification cards, deny them education, health and travel facilities.
India uses every opportunity to malign Pakistan; it is keeping a liaison with Harbyar Marri, whose organization staged protest rally in Gottingen, Germany on the eve of “Chinese National Day” on 30 Sep 2017. This has been done due to the Indian sponsored false propaganda about China’s new colonialism and human rights violations in Balochistan. It was said in their statements that China and Pakistan nexus is aimed at changing Balochistan’s demography to turn Balochs into a minority. Protest rallies by Baloch insurgent groups abroad have increased in order to project Balochistan issue on international forums. Baloch Student Organization-Azad (BSO) also organized a demonstration outside British PM residence in London on 1st Oct 2017 against alleged Pakistan war crimes in Balochistan.
Ahmar Masti Khan’s ‘American Friends of Balochistan’ organized an event at National Press Club in Washington, DC on 25 Aug 2017. The event was titled “Politics behind assassination of Nawab Akbar Bugti”. They stated: “Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed because Pak Army and China had ill-intentions vis-à-vis CPEC, Gwadar and Balochistan’s natural resources”. However, mainstream US media and credible organizations in USA do not take Ahmar Masti Khan seriously whose aim is to malign Pakistan’s Armed Forces and China. But he stands exposed, as Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed in 2006 when Gwadar’s control was with Singapore company and not with China; and there was no concept of CPEC at that time.
