For Mian Nawaz Sharif, the easiest and the more credible way to prove his innocence or lack of guilt would have been to face the trial with conviction and bombard the court with every available piece of evidence in support of his truthfulness. I am sure he would have done it if he had indeed been NOT GUILTY.
The reason he has been relying heavily on verbal assaults on the judiciary directly and on the army by implication quite clearly is that he has been caught red handed .
There is a phase known as SMOKING GUN. It is used for the weapon of crime or for evidence that a crime has been committed. The London Mayfair Apartments became the SMOKING GUN for the man who has been crying hoarse for years and years that his life has no purpose other than the Country’s Progress and the Welfare of the People.
The world has found him in possession of the SMOKING GUN – much to his discomfort annoyance, bitterness, chagrin, frustration and rage.
He knows that he has no case – that his only chance to extend his ‘ESCAPE FROM MORE HUMILIATION & MORE AGONY’ lies in trying to put on trial the very institutions that he believes stand in the way of the prolongation of his POWER TO PLUNDER.
I was away from my country for ten days – and was only partly connected with the developments here. On my return I have witnessed Mian Nawaz Sharif telling an arranged gathering in Murree that HIS PASSION TO SERVE THE COUNTRY AND THE PEOPLE IS STRONGER THAN EVER, AND THAT BEING A MAN OF GOD, HE WILL FIGHT THE TYRANNY OF JUSTICE WITH EVERY OUNCE OF HIS STRENGTH.
My comment here is that every self-appointed man of God here believes that his crimes are sacred.
May Allah put some ounces of remorse and shame in the souls of such men of God.
