- Says Pakistan is ready to permit media interaction with Jadhav’s wife and mother
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal on Thursday said Pakistan fully supports the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) resolution, calling for the withdrawal of US decision to recognise occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He also expressed grave concern on the recent ballistic missile attack on Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at a weekly news briefing in Islamabad, he said CPEC would be completed by 2030.
A decision to bring more projects and highways under the framework of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be taken by the two countries with consensus, he added.
To a question regarding Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, Dr Faisal confirmed that visas were issued to the wife and mother of the convicted Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent and that their meeting would take place in Islamabad. However, he added that “a decision over the implementation of Jhadav’s execution is yet to be taken.” Islamabad on Wednesday issued visas to the mother and wife of Jadhav, who has been awarded death sentence by a military court in Pakistan. Earlier in November, Pakistan had offered to allow the spy to meet his family on humanitarian grounds.
FO said Pakistan is ready to permit media interaction with the wife and mother of convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.
Responding to another question, FO spokesperson said that big swathes of territories not under control of the Afghan government were being used for terrorism and Pakistan has conveyed its reservations to Afghanistan in this regard.
“Pakistan has taken up the issue of Da’ish increasing influence in Afghanistan with the Afghan government and the world,” said Dr Faisal.
He also added, “Pakistan has asked the Afghan officials to tackle increasing safe havens of Da’ish in Afghanistan.”
Dr Faisal also rejected allegations levelled in the first foreign policy of the Trump administration, announced on December 18.
In a clear reference to India and Afghanistan, the spokesperson highlighted how the two neighbouring countries were interfering in Pakistan’s matters through their proxies.-Agencies
