President Mamnoon HussainISLAMABAD, February 20: President Syed Mamnoon Hussain has said that even a single inch change has not been made in the route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said the economy of the country will make rapid progress in the result of the execution of the projects under CPEC project. President said the terrorists are retreating as a result of successful Zarb-e-Azb operation. He said the Karachi operation will continue till the complete success. He said peace in country could not be restored without restoring peace in Karachi. President said that most of the energy projects started by government would be completed till 2018, adding that load shedding in country will end till 2018. He said import of LNG will also help overcoming the energy crisis in country. He said some people have tried to create misunderstandings in the matter of LNG import. He said the import of LNG will start next month and this will result in bringing revolution in country.
Addressing the 12th convocation of Sarhad University in Islamabad on Saturday president said that we should take benefit from the knowledge of West but we should not follow the West blindly in economic and social matters.
He said the girls are 50 percent of the country’s population, adding that the girls should secure higher education according to their choice. He said State Minister Engineer Balighur Rehman is working on new curriculum of educational institutions of all the provinces. He said basic curriculum of all provinces would be same; however the provinces could also make changes in the curriculum according to their own needs. He said the students should be informed about the basic history of Islam and Sub-Continent. President said that he is hopeful that the new basic curriculum would be implemented in the country soon.
President said any project of energy starts production in nearly three years, adding that four projects of nuclear energy are underway in country. President said that most of the energy projects started by government would be completed till 2018, adding that load shedding will end till 2018.
He said import of LNG will also help overcoming the energy crisis in country. He said some people have tried to create misunderstandings in the matter of LNG import. President said he appreciates Shahhid Khaqan Abbassi and his team for signing this agreement. He said the import of LNG will start next month and this will result in brining revolution in country.
He said that 8100 billion rupees debts of Pakistan were increased during the era of previous government, adding that why people did not ask where this money has gone.
He said PIA helped in establishment of Air Malta, Singapore Airline, Saudi Airline, Emirates Airline, Ittehad Airline and Malaysian Airline. He said unnecessarily recruitments were made in PIA, adding that jobs were sold in PIA. He said the same was done with Pakistan Steel Mills, Pakistan Railways and other departments. He said even policies were made in universities on the directions of the political workers.
President said the youth is the future of the country, adding that we all will eliminate the ills from country with joint efforts and will take the country to destination which was dreamed by late Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
He said law and order situation is being restored and day is
not far when the country will see the dawn of complete peace and
stability. The President said the misguided elements who declare themselves as the champions of Islam target educational institutions, mosques and other places without any discrimination. He said the entire nation should stand behind their armed forces and other security agencies to foil the nefarious designs of these misguided elements. Our armed forces have achieved major successes and they are committed to take this war to logical end. He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deserve applauds for standing like a rock wall in front of the terrorists.
Referring to the ongoing operation in Karachi, the President said
the government is determined to continue the operation in the
industrial and economic hub of the country till complete elimination of all criminal elements. He said writ of the state will be established in the provincial metropolis and other parts of the country at all costs.
About China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project, the President was confident that this mega game changer project will revive the country’s economy. He said this project is not the name of few roads but it also envisages several energy projects. He clarified that the original route of the CPEC has not been changed and the youth should stand by the government in completion of the corridor project.
Mamnoon Hussain urged the youth to acquire contemporary education particularly in the field of science and technology to take full advantage of opportunties to be provided by the CPEC. He also asked the educational institutions to enter into agreements with world reputed educational institutions for promotion of research activities in the country.-SABAH
