- Counsel for Maryam, Amjad Pervez will cross-question Zahir Shah today
ISLAMABAD, April 23: Zahir Shah, witness in the Avenfield property reference and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director general (Operations), Monday revealed in the cross-examination that the documents received from the United Kingdom’s Central Authority
didn’t bear former premier Nawaz or his children’s names.
While recording his statement, Shah said that the NAB had followed the MLA written by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT). “On March 27, 2018, a representative of UK High Commission submitted the documents on behalf of the UK’s Central Authority. I don’t know about the information on London flats real owner and beneficiaries of Nielsen and Nescoll Limited in the MLAs, however, the documents don’t bear Nawaz or his children’s names,” said Shah.
During the cross-questioning, counsel for Nawaz Khawja Harris and NAB’s prosecutor repeatedly exchanged harsh words and both demanded for the recording of the hearing.
Counsel for Maryam Amjad Pervez will cross-question Shah on Tuesday. Shah’s statement will also be recorded in Flagship reference afterwards.-Agencies
