KARACHI, April 29: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilwal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said that Karachi is his home, no matter where he go, Karachi is his introduction.
Addressing charged crowed at Tanki Ground Liaquatabad, the stronghold of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), he said that only those who love Karachi can resolve the issues of the city, adding that the seeds of hatred were sown to stop PPP in Karachi.
Taking a jibe at London-based Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder, Bilawal said that his party has always opposed MQM founder’s policies from day one, adding that it was very difficult for Karachi to get rid of MQM founder.
Mentioning MQM’s stronghold he said that it was the area where bullets were fired first and talks held later. “Some forces dislike relation of Karachi and Bhutto,” he added.
Referring to his party’s work, the PPP chairman said that his party was intolerant towards in lawlessness Karachi and they conducted operations against terrorists and militant wings across the province.
“Karachi is my home. No matter where I go Karachi is my introduction. We brought peace in the city by launching Karachi Operation,” the PPP Chairman said.
“PPP is not a party of target killers,” Bilawal said and added Karachi needs permanent peace now.
Commenting on the issues facing the city, he said pollution has become a huge problem in Karachi, adding that he won’t claim to have made things perfect in the city but said PPP was responsible for all development in Karachi.
He said: “We need a police force that people can trust, adding that police must be used to established peace in the province.”
Targeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, Bilawal said “we don’t want another MQM founder in shape of Imran Khan”.
“Karachi’s affairs were run from London in the past,” he said and added now Bani Gala was dreaming of running affairs.
Bilawal said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is the pursuing the politics of hate introduced by the MQM leader. Lashing out at former prime minister, he said that Nawaz Sharif used to make promise to Karachi and implement it somewhere else. He made fake announcement of Rs1500 billion for three districts of Sindh but deprived Karachi of gas instead, he added.-Agencies
