ISLAMABAD, May 23: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on Wednesday, had filed references against former Prime Minister Shaoukat Aziz and former minister Liaqat Jatoi.
Besides Shaoukat Aziz and Liaqat Jatoi, NAB, too, decided to launch investigation against former special secretary Chief Minister Sindh Pehlaj Mill and ex- member of National Assembly (MNA) from Quetta Nasir Shah over corruption allegations.
According to NAB press release, appointment of Basharat Hassan Bashir as consultant of alternative energy development board by Shoukat Aziz and Liaqat Jatoi was illicit which caused the loss of PKR210.6 million to national exchequer.
NAB’s executive board also launched inquiry against Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) officers who had allotted illegal land of forest department; furthermore, Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) also purchased unlawful shares of PKR3.8 billion from Punjab Bank.
Former Punjab cooperative liquidation board chairman, Liary express resettlement and finance department Sindh’s officers, too, were in hot water because of NAB investigation -TNS
