The price of their private assets declared by many politicians desirous of contesting polls in their nomination papers is ludicrously low to the extent that it is laughable. It has made many persons suggest in the social media that if the government bought these assets from them even by paying them double the price quoted by them and then put them to open auction it would fetch such a big amount that it would be able to pay back all its foreign loans with interest on them.
The tragedy is that many state organs like the police, the FIA and Election Commission present in the country whose job it is to handcuff the thieves, the cheats and the swindlers are just spectators because the rulers of this country have made them toothless They cannot call a spade a spade. Can such people be allowed to contest polls who provide wrong information to the EC ? Wasn’t it the duty of the EC to disqualify them from contesting polls? Such people should be kept miles away from parliament , what to speak of giving them permission to contest elections and become its members?
They are the people who have made property worth billions of rupees through ill-gotten money and now they are undervaluing it in order to escape taxation on it. They need to be asked to explain as to how have they come into big money while in power in such a short span of time? Their market value be correctly determined and then legal action be taken against them. The question is :Has the FBR necessary will, determination and courage to perform this task because it is as ineffective or rather made ineffective by the rulers like the other state organs.
