ISLAMABAD, February 23: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi has expressed strong concern at the atrocities and destruction being carried out by Daesh in Iraq, and commended the Iraqi Government’s resolute efforts in the fight against terrorism.  He was talking to newly appointed Ambassador of Iraq to Pakistan Dr Ali Yasin Mohammed Karim in Islamabad on Tuesday. Fatemi, welcoming the Iraqi ambassador, expressed the confidence that his presence in Pakistan would help further strengthen the existing bilateral ties between the two sides, said a press release. The Iraqi ambassador thanked the Special Assistant to Prime Minister for the warm welcome accorded to him in Pakistan. He expressed his resolve to explore new avenues of cooperation between the two brotherly countries. -DNA
