Many politicians often complain of ‘invisible’ hands engineering general elections in this country in order to bring into power political parties of their choice. For argument’s sake even if one were to accept this allegation the question is what prevents them to stay, stymie or obstruct these ‘invisible’ hands? The straight answer to this straight question is that they are not in a position to do so because of the reasons given below and for which they have to blame none but themselves .
It goes without saying that a politician who is corrupt ,who doesn’t enjoy good moral and financial reputation and who has made money through dubious means while he was in power would always be shit-scared even of his shadow. A corrupt person is always a very weak person. He is not in a position to bare his teeth to any state organ even if feels what it was doing was against the norms of justice. It is in the evidence that many state organs overstep their constitutional limits whenever they realise that those who were calling the shots in the corridors of power are corrupt persons.
Let us admit that the state organs gain strength in those countries only where the democratically elected rulers start indulging in corruption. The corrupt rulers are not in a position to call a spade a spade. The establishment then gets out of their hands. They are neither respected nor feared. The leaders like Mahatir Mohammad,Imam Khomeni,Fidel Castro,Hohn Chin Mien,to mention a few, didn’t dance to the tune of the state organs because they weren’t corrupt. The man in the street was with them and the state organs realised that fact. The state organs simply cannot become too big for their boots in countries which are blessed with honest leaders.
