ISLAMABAD, August 3: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday has opened investigation into alleged financial irregularities in Rs480 billion worth of circular debt payments in former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s government.
According to a statement issued on Friday, the anti-graft watchdog will be investigating against former ministers Ishaq Dar, Anoosha Rehman and former PTA chairman for awarding of illegal contract of NGMS. The Bureau will also probe against PPP Senator Robina Khalid, former EDA Lok Versa and others for awarding contacts. The anti-graft agency has also launched probe against Neelum Jehlum Project administration over complaints of corruption and misuse of authorities. The NAB will also launch investigation against overseas Pakistani and investors over money laundering and making assets of Rs101 billion in Dubai. NNI
