Prime Minister, Imran Khan meeting Saudi King, Salman Bin Abdulaziz in Jeddah on Wednesday.

JEDDAH, September 19: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday held a meeting with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz in Saudi Arabia. Matters pertaining to mutual interest, bilateral relations, trade, investment and economic ties came under discussion during the meeting.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razzaq Daud, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hasham bin Siddique were also present in the meeting.
Earlier on arrival in the palace of Saudi King, the prime minister was presented guard of honour and national anthems of the both countries were played. The Saudi King will also host a state banquet for the prime minister at the Royal Court.
Earlier, PM Imran held a meeting with Saudi Minister for Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Al-Falih and discussed matters related to bilateral trade and investment between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Head of Saudi Public Investment Fund Yasir Al-Rumayyan and Adviser Saudi Cabinet’s General Secretariat Ahmed Al-Khatib also joined the meeting, held at the King Faisal Palace in Jeddah.
The prime minister also met with Secretary General of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Yousef Al-Othaimeen and discussed matters of bilateral interest and challenges confronting Muslim Ummah.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan alongwith his delegation performed Umrah in Makkah as the door of Khana-e-Kaaba was specially opened in a sign of respect for the visiting dignitaries.
Earlier, soon after his arrival at Madinah, the prime minister paid respects at Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) before leaving the Red Sea city of Jeddah.
Prime Minister Imran Khan is visiting Saudi Arabia on the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi after meeting with his Saudi counterpart Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said that PM Imran Khan s visit to Saudi Arabia will further strengthen bilateral relationship.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has strong foundation. -DNA
