ISLAMABAD, SEPT 27 (DNA) – President Dr. Arif Alvi has emphasized the need for further strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait.
He was talking to Commerce Minister of Kuwait Khaled Nasser Abdullah in Islamabad on Thursday, who is currently visiting Pakistan to attend the 4th Session of Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Commission.
The Minister conveyed message of felicitations and good wishes from the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber to the President on assuming office.
The Commerce Minister of Kuwait is currently visiting Pakistan to attend the 4th Session of Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Commission. President Dr. Arif Alvi, during the meeting highlighted that the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries are based on close cultural, historical and religious ties.
The President underlined that the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) sessions will further strengthen trade, economic and investment relations between the two fraternal countries. He expressed satisfaction over the contributions of Pakistani community in the development and progress of Kuwait and added that Pakistan can meet the future human resource requirements of Kuwait with its skilled workforce.
Commerce Minister of Kuwait thanked the President and stressed the importance Kuwait attaches to its bilateral relations with Pakistan. Heemphasized the importance of translating the longstanding historic relations between the two countries into enhanced economic partnership.
He also underscored the need to follow-up on the decision taken during the JMC to take bilateral economic relations to the next level. Both sides reiterated that Pakistan and Kuwait are important members of the Muslim world and vowed to continue to work together at all fora for the advancement of common causes. DNA
