Pakistan’s former Test cricketer, Misbah-ul-Haq said that Sarfraz Ahmed should not be criticized for one bad performance as he has led Pakistan to numerous achievements.
Misbah, while talking to the media in Karachi, said that Sarfraz is a man with a good presence of mind and replacing him will not give any sense.
“Sarfraz is leading the side from the front and one bad performance doesn’t mean that you start talking about replacing him,” he said.
The former captain was quick to add that Sarfraz should lead the side in next year’s world cup and also asked the PCB to not disturb the team’s combination before the most important cricketing event.
“World cup is just six months away and this is not an ideal time to bring any change in the side,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that there is news propagating regarding the replacement of Sarfraz as captain.
Earlier, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani said that they are not sure whether Sarfraz will lead Pakistan in the world cup or not and they will take this decision after consulting the cricket committee.
“We haven’t made any decision regarding Sarfraz’s future as a captain in World Cup 2019. However, we will review all the suggestions made by the cricket committee in this regard,” Mani was quoted saying. Agencies
