Anchorpersons analysts and fact-providers are not a superior species. They are just normal humans gifted with probably better power of speech and in some cases more knowledge. Their obvious advantage is that they roam about in the corridors of power and business— and engage in gossip with persons who are not unlikely to be as half-informed and ill-formed as they themselves.
I have been in the world of media for nearly 57 years now — and I have had the opportunity of interacting with scores of decision-makers and power-wielders as well as with those around them or rubbing shoulders with them. In not many cases was I convinced that the man I was interacting with was more well-informed or knowledgeable than my ownself.
Thus I have excellent reasons to surmise that those who participate in the talk shows as anchorpersons, analysts or guests are not going to enhance your knowledge of the TRUTH. After all they are not unlikely to be as far away from truth as you yourself are.
Don’t treat them as imparters of Truth. The truth in their possession is likely to be their own version of Truth. The Truth of Kashif Abbasi is likely to be poles apart from the truth of Klasra, or Kamran Khan or Talat Hussain or M. Malick or Hamid Mir or for that matter any XYZ.
Don’t get misled.
Use your judgment.
In a curious way these fellows are politicians of a sort. There may be Nawaz Sharifs among them. Also Bilwals. And Zardaris. And Fazal ur Rahmans. And Asfandar Walis. And off course Imran Khans too.
The problem with us all is that we listen to only what we want to listen to.
It took the Holy Prophet (PBUH) thirteen years of hard toil, mind-breaking hardships and endless pursuit to convert about six dozen Makkans to Islam. A very vast majority just laughed him off. It was when Allah made His Prophet (PBUH) change his course and line of action that Allah’s Message started gaining ground and spreading like fire. The whole of Arabia changed in a decade. And in the next decade two of the super powers of those times fell to Islam.
How did it happen?
The flag-bearers of the Message of Allah took up arms in the support of their words and voice.
