LAHORE, November 11: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Ahmed Chaudhry has said that 84 percent foreign loan of Pakistan have been taken by Asif Ali Zardari and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, adding that both leaders should pay this money then we will have no need to seek loans from foreign countries. He said that Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif have taken foreign loan of Rs 24 thousand billion in 10 years, adding that both families have a lot of wealth and we could divide this loan on both families then we will have no need to take money from abroad. Fawad said that unfortunately we could not use those methods to recover the money from both families which methods have been used by foreign countries. He said that we know how to take back the money but due to democratic government we could not use this method. Fawad Chaudhry said that government is going to give health card costing Rs4 lakh and 87 thousand to all the registered journalists.
While addressing a press conference in Lahore on Sunday, Fawad Chaudhry said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is the only leader in PTI and Speaker, chief minister and information minister all are workers in PTI. He said that whatever Imran Khan will say it would
be final. He said that there is no crisis of leadership in PTI.
He said that the opposition is pursing the personal agenda but Imran Khan has no personal agenda.
Fawad said that PTI is the first government after 1988 which is running without the support of JUI-F. He said that until and unless Maulana Fazlur Rehman is in government everything is right. He said that many big incidents happened during the tenures of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s chairmanship of Kashmir Committee but he did not record any protest.
He said that if it is necessary to give chairmanship of Public Accounts Committee to opposition then it could be given to Bilawal or any other member. He said that some reasonable solution should be given, adding that it is not right that Shehbaz Sharif will conduct audit of Nawaz Sharif. Fawad said that PAC would hold the audit from 2016 to 2018, adding the principally the chairmanship should be given to PTI. He said that when audit of PTI government’s tenure will come then the chairmanship of PAC could be given to PML-N.
He said that it would not be right thing that Shahbaz Sharif will chair the meeting of Public Accounts Committee in jail and all the members of committee will arrive in jail to attend the meeting as many dangerous criminals are also present in jail.
He said that opposition is totally pursuing the personal agenda but Imran Khan has no personal agenda and this is difference between government and opposition.
Fawad said that whatever steps for holding accountability have been taken these would be further speed up. He said that until and unless accountability of influential people is done justice could not be done.
He said that it is the narrative of the Pakistani state that we have to restore the honor of Pakistan.
Replying a question, Fawad said that the prime minister will talk about corruption while seeking legal advice.
He said that if the degree of DG NAB was fake then why PML-N and PPP did not take any action against him. Fawad said that when Shahbaz Sharif was arrested the degree of DG NAB become fake. He said that so far NAB is moving in right direction.
Fawad said that our biggest crisis was balance of payments and we had short of $12 billon. He said that the government is going nowhere it should be kept in mind.
Meanwhile addressing a seminar in Lahore on Sunday Fawad Chaudhry said that politics should not be done in the name of religion.
He said Pakistan is facing a thinking crisis, not political crisis. He said a person cannot be Muslim unless he fully immerses in the love of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and completely believes in the finality of his prophethood. He said the clash of ideas is won by arguments, and not sword.
Fawad Chaudhry said those seeking anarchy and miscrancy are devoid of the power of argument. The Minister said the situation in Afghanistan had a direct impact on Pakistan during the last 3 or 4 decades.
The Minister said for the first time month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is being observed on state level. Renowned scholars from across the world have been invited to attend the conference on Rahmat-ul-Alameen.
He urged the religious scholars to become part of government efforts to spread the message of love of prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Fawad Chaudhry called on the country’s religious leadership to play its role to “prevent the war between ideologies from falling into the hands of those who are doing no service to our religion”.
Fawad Chaudhry said the protests that erupted countrywide following a Supreme Court verdict acquitting Asia Bibi reflected a societal crisis.-Sabah
