TEHRAN, December 9: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has stressed for greater cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in diverse fields including trade, commerce, energy and security.
He was talking to Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser who called on him in Tehran on the sidelines of the second Speakers’ Conference. The Iranian President said the two countries have deep links and these are rooted in history and rich civilization.
The speaker National Assembly said Pakistan enjoys close and cordial relations with Iran.
Asad Qaiser thanked the Iranian government for supporting the Kashmir cause.
Meanwhile Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has underlined the need for evolving coordinated approach to take benefit from economic opportunities in the region.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the second speakers’ conference in Tehran, he said rich energy, human and natural resources and strong cultural heritage are tremendous assets that can be put together for our collective benefit.
Asad Qaiser said that due to successful operations of Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad terrorists have been eliminated from the country. He said that the International community has recognized Pakistan’s efforts to eliminate terrorism from the region.
Later, he transferred the Presidency of the Speakers’ conference to Dr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani, Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran as per agreed charter of the Speakers’ conference.-Sabah
