All eyes are on Nawaz Sharif’s verdicts to be announced today

ISLAMABAD, December 23: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Sunday that all eyes are on the accountability court’s verdict scheduled on Monday.
An accountability court will give its decision on the Flagship Investment Limited and Al-Azizya references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Chaudhry said that the Nawaz and family failed to disclose the source of income of properties.
The information minister said that accountability of Nawaz Sharif is not possible with Shehbaz Sharif as public accounts committee chairperson.
“They only come in the assembly to talk about their corruption cases. They don’t talk about inflation or any other public issue,” he said.
Chaudhry said that Zardari and Nawaz’s politics has come to an end.
“They will join hands to form the Thugs of Pakistan alliance,” he said. “Zardari says that he is innocent. Was there government of ghosts in last 15 years. Who is responsible for the loot?”

“Pakistan’s biggest problem is the non-implementation of laws. NAB is going in the right direction but more needs to be done,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif met with brother Nawaz Sharif in the Minister’s Enclave.
Both discussed prevalent political scenario alongside the reserved verdict in NAB references – Flagship, Al-Azizia- against the elder Sharif that will be announced tomorrow (Monday – on December 24).
The both leaders have formulated the strategy for a power show and also directed PML-N lawmakers and workers to reach Islamabad to join the power show.
They also agreed to seek support from the Pakistan People s party (PPP) to steer out of political quagmire.
During the meeting, both discussed various aspects of post verdict situation, and agreed to launch a mass contact campaign in view of a guilty verdict landing Nawaz Sharif behind the bars (as the case may be).
The security has been beefed up in Islamabad ahead of announcement of verdicts by the accountability court on Monday in two references Al-Azizia and Flagship against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. It was reported that the security enhancement plan includes deployment of heavy contingent of security forces including rangers and 1,000 police officers, particularly around the court’s premises in Islamabad to avoid any possible untoward situation.-Agencies
