ANKARA, January 4: Prime Minister Imran Khan and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan held a one-on-one meeting at Presidential Place on Friday.
Both leaders discussed the ways to enhance relations between both countries.
They also discussed the Kashmir dispute, Afghan reconciliation process and peace in the region. The prime minister also visited the shrine of Atta Turk.
Addressing the joint press conference, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that Imran Khan did a long struggle for a change in Pakistan. “We welcome Prime Minister Imran Khan and his delegation in Turkey,” he said.
He expressed the resolve to support Pakistan forever. “The tripartite
meeting of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran will be held in March,” he declared.
He welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict of declaring Fethullah Gülen’s organization a terrorist organization.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that they want to boost relations between both countries. “We want cooperation from Turkey in all sectors, including the economy,” he said.
The prime minister said that Pakistan wants to benefit from the experience of Turkey in the housing sector.
He expressed his wish to improve relations with Turkey and peace in Afghanistan.
Hailing China as an example, he said the country had achieved what no other could in the history of mankind. “They lifted over 700 million people out of poverty line in 30 years.”
PM Imran revealed that the government had set up an office in the prime minister’s secretariat aiming to boost investment. He underscored the importance of ridding society of corruption. “Corruption makes it difficult for small and medium enterprises to flourish. It becomes the reason behind countries failure to reach their potential.”
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that we will take relationship with Turkey to higher level.
He went on to say that Pakistan wants to increase cooperation in all the fields especially in the field of economy.-Agencies
