RAWALPINDI, April 10: Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army and lauded their sacrifices for the motherland, sources reported Wednesday.
COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid tributes to the fallen soldiers during a ceremony organised to award gallantry awards to families of martyrs and Ghazis of Pakistan Army, at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor, said the army chief praised the sacrifices and gallantry of the martyred soldiers. “The COAS also hailed the courage and determination of the nation,” the ISPR chief said.
Addressing the ceremony, the army chief heaped praise on those who rendered sacrifices to protect their motherland.
“People ask us about ingredient of success in the war against terrorism, and we credit our martyrs and ghazis for their unflinching resolve and sacrifice to stamp out the menace of terrorism,” he remarked.
The COAS said nations that forget its martyrs are wiped out. “No sacrifice is greater than life to protect and defend our beloved motherland,” Gen Bajwa said.
He expressed a resolve that sacrifices rendered by our martyrs would never go in vain. “I salute the valour and gallantry to the families of our martyrs.” Later in the ceremony, heirs of the martyrs received the awards. Agencies
