The selected Prime Minister. That is the sarcastic epithet with which Bilawal Zardari remembers and mentions Imran Khan, the man who has carved out his way from the cricket grounds to the corridors of power through a struggle of around two decades.
While using this epithet the poor fellow simply forgets that he was still in his mother’s womb when his would- be parents had appointed him the Prime Minister of Pakistan. His selection had been made before his birth. It is quite another matter that Zardari’s dream is quite unlikely to come true. In a decade the father has successfully transformed the party of the Federation to the party of Sindh. And it may not take the son long to transform the party of Sindh to the party Rato Dero.
You may be hitting a mine Bilawal when you use this EPITHET. Your maternal grandfather, the founder of the party to which your father owes his hidden billions, was selected after he wrote the following lines to Maj General (rtd) Iskander Mirza, the-then President of Pakistan.
” This is not flattery Mr President. In my reckoning, you are a far greater man than Mohammad Ali Jinnah.”
You, Billawal, owe your ‘ Bilawalhood’ to that letter Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto wrote to Iskandar Mirza on April 30,1958.!!!
