PTM proclaims itself as Pashtun Rights activist movement. Members are led by Manzoor Pashteen, MNA Mohsin Dawar and MNA Ali Wazir. Party is being supported from some functional and nonfunctional leadership of PKMAP (Senator Usman Kakar) and ANP (Afrasiab Khattak, Bushra Gohar) and of PPP (Senator Farhat Ullah Babar). PRM promotes its ideology through VOA, BBC, Mashaal and Deewa Radios.
PTM plays exploitation of Pashtun grief, fear and sorrows which they suffered because of mushroom growth of foreign sponsored terrorism in their area. Pakistani nation has sacrificed over 25,000 people in this war while another 60,000 suffered injuries.
An in-depth look at the PTM strategy exposes its true intent of spreading chaos, confusion, divide and instigation against institutions. PTM follows exactly same narrative as was followed by TTP to undermine state institution and Pakistan’s efforts in war on terror.
PTM cannot debate its agenda with any knowledgeable or critical mind, instead they target low educated and remotely placed youth and population through hollow slogans, high pitch music, and occasional sad tales to arouse madness in the masses.
A careful look at the leadership’s activities may expose their true designs.
Mohsin Dawar is holding foreign front and tries to instigate Pashtuns present abroad for alleged Pashtun deprivations.
Ali Wazir is holding Afghan front. He is in continuous touch with Afghan colleagues of PTM and has recently crossed Torkham border to Afghanistan where he was received amidst slogans of Lar o Bar Your Afghan. However, he is unable to talk Pakistan issue with Afghans.
Ali Wazir would never speak openly, neither will he accuse Ashraf Ghani led NUG in Kabul. He will also not criticize Kabul regime’s efforts aimed to undermine Pakistan supported Doha Peace talks.
Seeing his two comrades as MNAs in disbelief, Manzoor Pashteen himself is constantly changing gears as well the tracks. He is claiming to sit and talk to the Government about his demands. Whereas on the other hand he is accusing Pakistani media for not airing PTM narratives he plans a meeting at Peshawar to record protest against alleged murder of Arman Loni.
Pashtun population has also started seriously questioning each other’s about the real motives of PTM. Better leadership orientation is the need of the hour for people of former FATA to help them address their genuine needs as well the justified demands. The coverage of the Pashtun Tehfuz Movement PTM by the Indian and Afghan media confirms the stance of public and the security forces that it is being sponsored by the RAW and NDS agents to defame Military, bring anti state uprising in sections of Pakhtuns and destabilise country at a new front. Anti-PTM rallies have been held in Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram agencies and also in the K-P towns of Kohat, Shabqadar and Charsadda. People from different walks of lives praised the Pak Army and its sacrifices for maintaining peace in FATA and K-P.
Protestors termed PTM <link> anti-state and anti-forces.International media, INGOs, and anti-Pakistan writers not only welcomed the ongoing campaign of the PTM against Pakistan’s Armed forces but also gave it full coverage.
In such a critical scenario, a statement by the Afghan president drew some strong reactions in Pakistan.PTM needs to be EXPOSED for what is. A virulent anti-Pakistan and anti-Pashtun group working under the tutelage of the NDS & RAW. Their propaganda against the Army is laughable because the Armed Forces & Police have thousands of Pashtuns. The Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), a self-declared rights movement, is once again in the news.
As the Afghan President Mr. Ashraf Ghani tweeted and attempted to interfere in domestic matters of Pakistan, civil society, media and politicians strongly reacted and rejected Mr. Ghani’s statement.
The Afghan President had said that “[t]he Afghan government has serious concerns about the violence perpetrated against peaceful protestors and civil activists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Some analysts in Pakistan believe that Mr. Ghani’s statement is a reflection of ‘political frustration’ since Taliban and Afghan political leadership have been engaged by the United States of America to seek a peaceful political settlement to end the ongoing war on terror. Prominent political analyst, Jan Achakzai, said that “#Ashraf Ghani is a spent force in Afghanistan politically. His anti-Pakistan rants are meant to hide frustration over isolation by Afghan politicians & Taliban. His only choice is going back 2 Intelectual work in #US. US will not sacrifice strategic priorities 4 his career goal.
