The top military source in Sri Lanka revealed on Saturday that Zahran Hashim, mastermind and other terrorists involved in Sri Lanka Easter attacks had taken training in India. The official further stated that the terrorist had lived in South India while another youth involved in the attacks also got training in Tamil Nadu. The Indian authorities have refused to comment on it. Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena told that local extremis and mastermind Zahran Hashim died in one of the blasts at three packed churches and three luxury hotels used by foreign tourists. In another incident, fifteen people including six children, died during a raid by Sri Lankan security forces, as three suicide bombers blew themselves up, while others were shot dead by the security forces in, what was believed to a militant safe house near the eastern town of Kalmunai on Friday night, police said.
In home front, India continues with the killing spree in Jammu & Kashmir. One of the two Kashmiri youth in Bijbehara martyred in an encounter in Anantnag district on 25th April has been identified as a Hizbul supporter, a police spokesman said. Last month, Indian troops martyred two Kashmiri youth in the Shopian district of occupied Kashmir (IoK) during a cordon and search operation in the Gahand area of the district. Indian troops in their continued acts of state terrorism martyred 26 Kashmiris including one child during the month of March. According to the data released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, out of 26 people, a school principal was killed in police custody at infamous Cargo Camp in Srinagar. During the period, 251 people were critically injured when the troops used brute force on civilian protesters in different areas of the territory, while 148 persons were arrested in house raids and crackdown operations.
Hurriyat leaders in their statements denounced arrest and harassment of Hurriyat leaders and activists at the hands of Indian forces. Two motorcyclists were injured when Indian soldiers opened fire on them in Bandzoo area of Pulwama district, and they were taken to Pulwama hospital where doctors referred them to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar. Since January 1989, Indian military, paramilitary and police personnel have widowed 22,899 women and molested 11,113 others since the start of state terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir in January 1989. According to a report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, thousands of women were among 95,316 Kashmiris martyred by Indian military, paramilitary and police personnel since January 1989 till date. An eight-year girl, Aasifa Bano, of Kathua, was abducted, gang-raped and subsequently murdered by Indian police personnel, last year.
Reportedly, one final year Kashmiri student Noman Wani at Nishtar Medical University revealed that Indian authorities at Wagha boarder mistreat most of the Kashmiri students. He further shared his recent incident at border crossing in which he was compelled by Indian authorities to chant “Pakistan Murda Bad – Hindustan Zinda Bad” slogan. They also made the video and posted/uploaded on his Facebook ID. Besides, his mobile phone was also thoroughly checked by the Indian authorities. In another incident, Indian authorities stopped a woman from Azad Jammu and Kashmir who married a resident of Occupied Kashmir while she was returning to Pakistan via Wagah-Attari border to meet her parents. Kubra was born in Muzaffarabad, AJK, and married to Altaf Rathar, a resident of Kokernag area Islamabad district in Occupied Kashmir in March 2010 in Muzaffarabad. However, the marriage didn’t long last and the two separated in November 2018.
