Hamid Mir doesn’t forget or forgive. One of his most recent tweet is: Mark Mazzetti wrote on page 273 of his book that some relatives of victims resisted but ISI forced them to accept “blood money”.
Hamid Mir’s reference is towards the case of Raymond Davis, in which as per his contention based on Mark Mazzetti’s book “The Way of the Knife” General Pasha had forced the families of the victims to accept Diyat through court.
A lady Moazzama Ali commenting on Hamid Mir’s tweet has tweeted: “Speaking truth is very good habit but speaking truth on the risk of your life is a courageous move. I pray for you to stay safe”.
Noble sentiments indeed.
But truth has a price tag too. Once upon a time even ISI was in a position to pay “truth-speakers”. But then other characters came in. and they had tons of money to disburse among the “Truth-Speakers.”
Be it CIA, or MI5 or RAW, or Mossad.
Their ability to pay cannot be matched by poor ISI.
And Truth was up for sale. Is up for sale.
