SRINAGAR, December 20: In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has emphasized that Indian conspiracies to divide the people of Jammu and Kashmir on ethnic and sectarian lines will be opposed tooth and nail.
Syed Ali Gilani talking to a delegation from Jammu, at his residence in Srinagar said that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were a geographical entity, and the Indian government with the help of communal party, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh was promoting sectarian strife and intolerance in the territory. The delegation was led by International Democratic Party Chief, I D Khajuria.
The forum led by the veteran leader in a statement in Srinagar condemned the harassment of illegally-detained Hurriyet leaders and activists at Udhampur jail in Jammu. The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a big gathering at Soyabug in Badgam, Sunday, warned that any attempt by Indian rulers to enforce graveyards’ silence in the territory by pushing the youth against the wall would have dangerous repercussions. He called upon Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps for granting the people of Kashmir their inalienable birth right. He said that unfair and unbalanced foreign policies of the world powers had brought the world to the brink of disaster. Earlier, people shouted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans on the arrival of the JKLF Chief in the village.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in his statement while paying tributes to the founding member of Muslim Conference, late Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas on his anniversary said that the people of Kashmir had been struggling for the just cause of Kashmir’s freedom since 1931.
