One of the reasons that Israel, despite being a tiny state with a tiny population has succeeded in not only surviving with pride, but also gaining the reputation of invincibility, is that right from the day one of its coming into being, it has shown zero tolerance for any kind of disrespect, insult, or ill-intended malice towards its flag, frontiers and statehood.
It has dealt with its detractors, traitors and enemies with lethal firmness.
Pakistan’s case is quite the opposite. We have frequently allowed the matter of even the desecration of our national flag to fall in the ambit of legitimate protest against the fictitious or real wrongs, to which some regions or races have allegedly been subjected.
Balochistan is a classical example in this connection. There have been cases when our flag has been burnt and people with Pakistani credentials have been savagely butchered by the so-called rebels or insurgents, fighting for their rights. No one has told them or the world that ‘rights’ belong to only those in Pakistan (like elsewhere in the world) who respect their flag and their national identity. Those who do not, fall in only one category—traitors— enemies — or enemy agents.
And they deserve to be eliminated as ruthlessly as Israel has eliminated its detractors, rebels, enemies or traitors as a matter of rule.
Of course the Israelis haven’t done it under any legal cover.
They have organized ‘hit-squads’ to do this dirty work.
Any ‘dirty work’ done to uphold the honour of one’s flag, frontiers and faith will in the final reckoning be recognized as an act of patriotism.
Who doesn’t know that our traitors have safe havens and sanctuaries abroad?
Where are our patriots sleeping?
