LONDON, June 23: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and ISPR DG Major General Asif Ghafoor arrived at the Lord’s on Sunday to watch Pakistan’s match against South Africa.
Pakistan and South Africa both needed a victory to keep their slender hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals alive.
The army chief and DG ISPR were warmly received by the cricket fans upon their arrival.
Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bat first in a must-win World Cup clash against fellow strugglers South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday.
Pakistan and South Africa both needed a victory to keep their slender hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals alive.-Agencies
