- Says uplift packages cannot ‘buy’ loyalty of the masses
LODHRAN, December 21: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Monday said Rs2.5 billion government package for Lodhran would not help the ruling party win by-election in the constituency as people were not ready to sell themselves.
Addressing a mammoth rally as part of by-election which is being considered a contest between PTI’s Jahangir Khan Tarin and PML-N’s, Siddique Baloch, Khan said though Mian Sahib announced Rs2.5 billion package for the area, he was in bad habit of not keeping his word.
N-League is expert in carrying out pre-poll rigging, but we also prepared to stop rigging, he said claiming that 21,000 fake votes were cast in the Lahore by-election in which PTI’s Aleem Khan was defeated at the hands of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
He accused the government of carrying out economic murder of peasants and urged it to divert money which it was spending on bus projects to health and education sectors. He said at least 10 million children were out schools in Pakistan.
We are fighting a battle for Naya Pakistan, and would not sit silently until elements involved in election rigging are not punished,†Imran Khan said.
He also called for a Rs19 cut in per liter price of diesel and vowed that he would not spare unscrupulous elements after coming into power.
During his speech, the PTI chief also announced to launch a campaign against corruption and inflation in and out side the assemblies.
