WASHINGTON, July 21: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday invited businessmen and investors from the United States (US) to benefit from the economic and business opportunities in Pakistan, reported Radio Pakistan.
On his three-day visit to the US, the premier had a meeting with a delegation of investors, led by Javed Anwar – an effective member of the Democratic Party who played an active role in the formation of the Pakistan Congress Foundation caucus – in Washington DC.
During the moot, PM Imran informed the businessmen about the benefit of investing in Pakistan because of the country’s strategic location and its connectivity to the broader region.
The investors identified their areas of interest including the energy and tourism sector and appreciated the improved security in the region.
Texas-based leading Pakistani businessmen and high ranking influential member of the Democratic Party Tahir Javed invited the prime minister to the Pakistan Embassy in Washington to discuss more business opportunities.
The prime minister is visiting the US on the invitation of President Donald Trump and discussions are expected to be held on a raft of regional and global issues.

Imran and Trump can help address some of the misgivings.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and U.S President Donald Trump are scheduled to hold talks on cementing Pakistan-US relations in a range of areas, at White House in Washington on Monday.
The talks will mark an effort by the two leaders to reset ties between the two countries.
It will expand bilateral cooperation on trade and investment as well as work toward peace in South Asia at large and Afghanistan in particular.
President Trump will welcome the prime minister in his Oval Office for talks which will then extend to a working luncheon to be attended by cabinet members and senior Pentagon leaders.
PM Imran Khan will also address a large gathering of Pakistani-Americans who keenly follow his agenda of Naya Pakistan. He will interact with top American lawmakers and Pakistan Caucus on the Capitol Hill.
Earlier, on his arrival in Washington DC, Prime Minister Imran was greeted both at the airport and the Pakistani Embassy by charged up PTI supporters.
He arrived in the US capital via a Qatar Airways flight and was greeted at the airport by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi who was already in the US and Pakistani Ambassador to the US Dr Asad Majeed Khan.
The Prime Minister was received by Senior Officials of US State Department, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Ambassador of Pakistan to USA Dr. Asad M. Khan.
PTI workers at the airport welcome the premier by playing the dhol and shouting slogans. People gathered outside the Pakistani Embassy also dressed up in PTI colours and paraphernalia.
Enthusiastic Pakistani-American community members gathered near the Embassy Residence to welcome Prime Minister Imran Khan to Washington DC.
The premier is in DC for a three-day trip and will be meeting US President Donald Trump on July 22 at the White House.-Agencies
