LAHORE: Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar Khan decided to form a committee which will look into the team’s poor show in the recent Asia Cup and the selection process for the upcoming World Twenty20 in India this year.According to a release issued by PCB, the committee will compromise of Chairman Cricket Committee Shakil Sheikh, Chief Operation Officer Subhan Ahmed, ex-cricketer Iqbal Qasim and Younus Khan/Misbah-ul-Haq.
Sheikh will be chair the committee while the inclusion of Misbah and Younis are subjected to availability. The body will begin functioning immediately.
The board stated that the Terms Of Reference (TOR) for the committee are being prepared and will include the selection criteria, the coaching preparation and the team performance.
“It will monitor team’s performance in the World T-20 and make its recommendations thereafter. The committee will be empowered to call any person involved in the team performance”, the release read.
PCB stated that the Chairman is already seeking the advice of his cricket advisors, Misbah Ul Haq and Younus Khan.
