What has really changed in last one year since the newly elected representatives took over charge of the affairs from the fallen political rivals! Allegations are being levelled without any break from both sides and criticism is coming in full circles leaving no room for decency and standard political functioning!Surprisingly, this all is mostly coming out from the mouths of those self-styled champions of democracy who had been ruling and ruining the state mercilessly during last three decades in one way or the other. No doubt that the challenges for new government have proved tougher than ever and hopes of nation are equally higher . There are interlinked complex problems at internal and external fronts which require a principle based unification among political circles . This unification should revolve around the sole purpose of national stability . Success of the government will be beneficial for the country and any failure at this stage might bring unimaginable losses as well . What happened on the floor of national assembly amid recent Kashmir crisis, can only be termed as the worst display of deep rooted irresponsible non democratic mind set prevailing in our politics. This all came from the top three representative parties in the house . Probably it happened for the first time that opposition accorded higher priority to the arrest and accountability issues of respective leadership and down played the sensitive issue of Kashmir . Few days earlier ill intended no confidence motion against senate chairman met a failure and earned embracement for all stake holders. Worst part of the story was written by those who openly stood in favor of motion but didn’t vote for it once given the opportunity of secret ballot . Hue and cry from the opposition and ruling benches during an important joint session on Kashmir issue spoiled the environment and earned great disrespect for the house all over the world . This disorder sufficiently proves the low intellectual side of the house . This shameless behavior is actually the true reflection of rotten political culture and spoiled mind set of politicians . We either support some one without looking upon the follies or oppose the rivals without considering the slightest for their good deeds. During the tussle of PTI and PMLN on the floor of house PPP Chairman called extra shots by exaggerating the arrest of ex PM’s daughter . No rocket science is required to comprehend that it was a childish effort to improve the damaged impression for covering up the worst failures of his party in Sindh . Criticism on Bilawal’s speech from impartial commentators has clearly reflected that days of verbosity are over to a great extent . It is no more easy to befool the masses on charming slogans of 70s. Exploitation of forefathers names and fabricated claims of sacrifices can not shroud the corrupt practices any more . People of Pakistan have now started to question the elites on performance . Present government is though dominated by PTI but it can not move forward without the clutches of her allies. A large number of old faces have sworn in the cabinet with the claims of replacing the corrupt practices of traditional politics. On his arrival , PM gave a dynamic agenda during first address to the nation . High hopes and excitement in the hearts of masses, unlike the past, is no more there for the government . As very rightly predicted by few of the analysts that the maximum hurdles would be raised in implementation of PM’s agenda by his own party members and corruption addicted bureaucracy . Irrespective of the political tug of war , it is obvious that Pakistan can not afford failure of any government as it would bring an unmanageable catastrophe . Our political parties should realize this bitter fact without wasting any more time in the dirty politics of leg pulling . Two major challenges haunting the nation are dangerously deteriorated economy and unusually inefficient foreign office . Credit to this pathetic state of affairs goes to the past ruling regimes comprising PPP and PMLN . It requires enough attention that USA has shifted past threatening mode and started pinning hopes with Pakistan for assistance in Afghanistan .Pakistan is facing a tight situation due to deteriorated economy and rapidly worsening situation at eastern border with India after constitutional misadventure at Kashmir . Now with such an obvious tough going Pakistan can not afford polarized political canvas . There has to be differences , complains and allegations in the political process but the ultimate objective should not compromise the state interests . Pakistan can not afford such a poor and shaky political order in moments of extra ordinary crisis. Unity and decent politics is the best which our national parties can deliver to the country in the hour of need.
