The State Security Service of the President (SSSP) will be responsible for the safety of the President of Uzbekistan, members of his family, and also heads of foreign states during their visits to Uzbekistan.
Earlier, the safety and security of the President of Uzbekistan were part of the authority of the State Security Service.
Senators approved the law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Improvement of Legislation in the Field of Security and Defense”.
The law makes amendments and additions to 12 laws and 3 codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the activities of the State Security Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the powers of the State Security Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan include combating terrorism, operational-search activities, crime prevention, etc.
According to the document, the State Security Service of the President will ensure the safety of permanent and temporary residence facilities, as well as the routes of movement of protected persons.
In order to further improve the system of military training, amendments and additions are made to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On universal military duty and military service.” In particular, a single term is established for military service, both for officers serving in military service in the officer ranks and for military personnel in active military service in the ranks of ordinary and non-commissioned officers.
The norm is fixed that the training of draftees in the military-technical specialties is carried out in the training centers of draftees in the military-technical specialties of the Defense Affairs Directorates, instead of the educational institutions of the Organization for the Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Vatanparvar”. The law is approved by senators.
