Modi didn’t deserve this award

What has Modi done so creditable that the UAE has honoured him with its highest civilian award the other day? Is he a man of letter who has written some outstanding piece of literature? Is he a scientist who has done some extraordinary research in the field of chemistry, physics, biology or computer science? Has he written some philosophical treatise like Bertrand Russell ? Did nobody in the UAE tell its filthy rich rulers that Modi’s greatest achievement is that he has butchered hundreds of Indian Muslims in Gujrat when he was its CM? Are they not in the know of the fact that he is known as a butcher of Gujrat? Don’t they know that he has let loose a reign of terror in Kashmir in which Muslims are being killed and maimed with rare abandon? Wasn’t he once was banned by Washington from visiting the U.S. because of his terrorist credentials?
The Muslims of the sub-continent never expected such callousness from their UAE’s brethren and the conferment of this award on him was tantamount to rubbing salt into their wounds. Had the UAE government postponed conferment of this award it would have sent a correct signal to New Delhi. What a pity that those countries who claim themselves as champions of Islam are disunited. Over 50 countries of the world are Islamic but one doesn’t see many leaders in them who are visionary capable of showing grit and determination to bring all the muslim countries on a single platform.
POSTSCRIPT. The government must do something to bring back to life hockey in the country which shows no sign of improvement since long.
