It is heartening to note that Pakistan, Malaysia and Turkey are toying with the idea of setting up an English language joint TV channel in order to rebut frivolous and wrong propaganda by some political element against Islam which is a religion of peace and harmony. There is no gainsaying the fact that in today’s world it is the Jews who dominate a big proportion of world media and they are highly biased against the Muslims. Such a venture should have been put into operation long ago but, as they say, better late than never, even now if it is made operational soon it can a long way in dispelling misgivings and misunderstandings created in the world against the Muslims by the elements hostile to Islam.
We now fully know the countries which pay only lip service to the cause of the Kashmiris as well as those who stand openly with us in the matter. Keeping in view the present ground realities we had better review our foreign policy which should be two-pronged. We ought to further cement our ties with the countries which have stood with us through thick and thin. Simultaneously, we should redouble our diplomatic efforts in winning the open support of those countries who speak about Kashmir tongue in cheek . This is going to be by no means an easy task but it has to be done on a priority basis.
We should henceforth give a wide berth to Washington. We should no longer trust it . Once bitten, twice shy. We have been bitten by the Yankees not once but many times. Friendship with the U. S has caused us more harm than good . It is about time we said adieu to Washington.
