The recent visit to Pakistan of Prince Williams and his spouse Middleton provided a lot of material to our print media for almost four days. Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Phillips while seeing the telly back home must have recollected memories of their visit to Pakistan in the early 1960s.
There was no love lost between the queen and Williams’s mother Diana though she likes Middleton but has reservations about the wife of her another grandson Prince Harry. The queen is a very serious-minded woman who is meticulous to a fault in her habits and if any family member of her doesn’t come up to the standards of behaviour and rectitude set up by her she takes no time in ticking him or her off. It goes to her credit that she is held in a very high esteem by her countrymen as well as in the world because of her excellent temperament and dealings. She is on the wrong side of 90 but her age hasn’t yet caught up with her. Her heir-apparent Prince Charles has grown old waiting in the wings to become king of Britain but her mother at the moment shows no signs of immediate retirement because of her age. She has already beaten the record of Queen Victoria in terms of longevity in holding the office of queen of Britain.
In utter contrast to her habits, her husband Prince Phillips who is elder to her by a couple of years , is quite notorious for his gaffes which, more often than not, place his hosts in extreme embarrassment.
