1060065-snookerxxx-1457242569-364-640x480KARACHI: Pakistan’s Abdul Raheem and Haris Tahir moved into the last-16 of the 2016 Asian Snooker Championship after winning their respective last-24 matches in Colombo, Sri Lanka.Raheem defeated South Korea’s Daegyu Lee 4-0 in what was a closer match than the scoreline suggested.Only seven points separated the two in the first frame and Raheem built the foundation of the victory on the first frame. The third and fourth frames were closer as well but he held on to win with a scoreline of 68-61, 70-24(63), 58-36, 68-50.Raheem will now meet China’s Wang Yuchen for a place in the last-eight.
Meanwhile, Tahir came back from 2-1 down to win 4-2 against India’s Nikhil Rakesh with scores of 53-40, 40-62, 17-74, 138-0(100), 82-07, 104-17. He will lock horns with Hong Kong’s Man Hoi Leong in the last-16.
