Gujrat on high alert amid reports of possible militant attack.
This headline of a news item in the country’s leading English daily didn’t fail to catch my attention instantly.
As I read the details, all my faculties of mind and comprehension went into a state of alert.
The Indian Capital (i.e New Delhi) and parts of Gujrat (i.e Modi’s home state) have been placed on a high alert after Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Lt. General (Retd) Nasser Janjua tipped off his Indian counter-part about a possible Lashkar-e-Taiba plot to stage cross-border terrorist strikes (as per this sensational report).
The newspaper in question is Dawn, and the source that the report has mentioned is the Indian Daily The Hindu which has attributed the ‘leak’ to certain Gujrat officials who had claimed that a person of no less authenticity than Gen Janjua had informed India’s National Security chief Ajit Doval about the alleged plot of cross-border terrorism from Pakistan.
I am utterly speechless.
Is it possible that Pakistan should go half-way down to embrace the truth embedded in the long-publicized Indian allegations that certain Pakistani outfits (specially Lashkar-i-Taiba and Jesh-i-Mohammad) have actually remained engaged in acts of cross-border attacks on Indian targets?
What is going on?
We all know that Ajit Doval is the very embodiment of avowed hatred against Muslims and Pakistan, and virtually personifies the Indian designs to dismember Pakistan (via Baluchistan)
Why should our National Security Adviser go out of the way to arm Ajit Doval against Pakistan?
