When Chaudry Shujaat Hussain was telling Maulana Fazlur Rehman that he has upstaged both the PPP and Nawaz League in the politics of the country by leading the sit-in in Islamabad from the front, he was,in fact, cocking a snook at the Sharif family which is his arch rival. It should be a matter of concern for the Chairman PTI that his party men had to seek the services of the Chaudries of Gujrat for mending fences with the JUI(F) leadership and they didn’t have any worthwhile leader in its ranks to do this job. Imran Khan must have realised by now that a majority of his so-called advisors ,who sit on his right and left ,are only paper tigers who can’t deliver in times of crisis. Many of his ministers are nincompoops and it is about time they were shown the door.
The PTI chairman should take the recent Azadi March as a blessing in disguise and take a stock of the situation in the light of the allegations made by the opposition against his government instead of dismissing them outright. He will find many skeletons in his cupboard .He shouldn’t forget that it is his sheer good luck that he doesn’t have enough honest persons in the opposition parties, which is also an house divided against itself otherwise he would have found the goings to be too tough for him and his cabinet ministers most of whom are long on the rhetoric and short on performance. He must have realised by now that had he given importance to parliament by making his presence in the National Assembly felt instead of making himself scarce in parliament he would never have faced the so-called Azadi March. Even now not much has been lost .He can still retrieve the situation and put up a solid performance in the days to come. As the minutes tick by his performance will come under more public scrutiny by the day.
