ISLAMABAD, November 28: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that all institutions respect each others and there will never be a confrontation between national institutions.
Addressing Envoys Conference titled Engage Africa in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that the foes of the country were expecting a clash between institutions in Pakistan, but they should know that the harmony that institutions enjoying today is unprecedented, adding that Pakistan’s democracy has become mature, where institutions do not clash with one another.
He said ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has a history of 23 years struggle for independence of the judiciary and today anti-Pakistan forces get defeated. He said that ineligible people were appointed in the institutions by the previous governments but the PTI government will bring system of merit in all institutions. The prime minister said that merit was ignored in national institutions as people were appointed in the institutions without considering merit. It is the need of the hour to ensure that bureaucrats and envoys take up their office on merit, the PM stressed.
Imran Khan went on to say that Pakistan s most important issue was of current account deficit and the country’s remittances have increased with the measures taken by the PTI government.
The prime minister said that efforts were made to destabilize Pakistan, however, Allah almighty has bestowed Pakistan with great natural resources. Pakistan’s economy is improving and the value of the rupee is stabilizing, he said. He said, we need to focus on the African countries, adding that Turkey has also strengthened its relations with the African countries.” “It is time to concentrate our focus on this region and our mission should utilize its full potential to bring investment and remittances to Pakistan and enhance exports,” the Prime Minister said.
PM Imran said that in past we neglected the African continent, which reflects our mindset. He said now things have changed and PTI-led government is pursuing an independent foreign policy in the best interest of Pakistan. He emphasized on improving performance of the press attaches abroad for better communication to ensure better understanding between Pakistan and other countries.-NNI
