- Expresses hope new Govt will carry forward the reform agenda of President Shavkat Mirzioyev for the betterment of the masses

ISLAMABAD, December 25: The people of Uzbekistan by using their voting right in a free and fair environment have elected their representatives in the Parliamentary elections held on December 22. This has been stated by Major General (R) Khalid Amir Jaffery, President Centre for Global and Strategic Studies and International Observer while talking to Uzbek media on Wednesday. General Jaffery
also praised the Election Commission of Uzbekistan for adopting all the necessary measures with regard to the peaceful and transparent conduct of the elections.
He said that he himself on the election day visited a number of Polling Stations in Tashkent, talked to the polling staff, voters, candidates and found them completely satisfied viz-a-viz the arrangements. As far as the Central-Election Commission o f Uzbekistan is concerned it took all the necessary steps to complete the electoral process as per the law of the land. He added that all the staff at the Polling Booths was fully trained, confident and sensitized towards their duties in addition to the availability of video cameras, biometric system, computerized voters and candidates lists.
To a question, President Centre for Global and Strategic Studies expressed the hope that the new Government in Uzbekistan will carry forward the reforms agenda of President Shavkat Mirzioyev and that in the days to come the country will have a smooth sail towards its destination that is accelerated progress and development for the betterment of its masses.
Answering another question he termed Pakistan-Uzbekistan bilateral relations as exemplary but added that still there is a room for the enhancement of existing relationship as well as a number of new fields.
