South Africa former pace bowler Makhaya Ntini is looking forward to witnessing Pakistan junior team skipper Rohail Nazir in the upcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020 in South Africa starting from January 17th.
“Pakistan, too, have a lot of exciting players and I’m looking forward to seeing how Rohail Nazir performs with the bat,” He said.
The 42-year-old, while sharing his comments in an exclusive column for International Cricket Council (ICC) included Rohail’s name and warned him that there will be some pressure on the shoulders of him because he is just 18.
“As captain of his country, there will be some pressure on his shoulders but at 18, he’s already shown himself to be a very strong player and a leader too, both in the field and with the bat,” He added. He appreciated his great form in domestic and List A cricket and is excited to see how he plays against some quality bowlers in the competition.
“Rohail has already played first-class and List A cricket and was on a good run of form late in 2019, so it’ll be exciting to see how he goes against some world-class bowlers,” He concluded.
It must be noted that Pakistan U19 have arrived in South Africa for the mega event and will start their campaign against Scotland on January 19. Yesterday, green shirts defeated Nigeria U19 by 10 wickets courtesy vice-captain Haider Ali 70 off 38 balls.
