What a pity that the Saudis cannot defend their Homeland on their own and have to rely on the US to guard their frontiers. Isn’t the recent statement of Donald Trump a slap on their face in which he sardonically said that the Saudis have deposited one billion dollars in the American coffers as s fee for hiring the services of the American army?He also said that the Saudis wanted more American Marines for defence against Iran for which they would have to make more payment. What good is the money if it isn’t utilised properly for raising a fully trained army and instead squandering it on a luxurious life ?
Had there been an iota of political acumen and intelligence, the Saudi monarchy would have raised a big army, Navy and airforce equipped with the latest state of the art military equipment instead of begging other countries to send their men to Saudi Arabia for guarding their geographical frontiers.
The Thai king deserves hosonnas for ordering that traffic shouldn’t be stopped whenever his Entourage moves on the road as it unnecessarily created traffic jams as a result of which a lot of public inconvenience is caused. The Thai monarch has proved himself to be far more alive to the public inconveniences of his people as compared to our so-called peoples’representatives for whom the general traffic is closed whenever their Entourage moved on the road thus Musharraf is a much relieved man after the case against him was thrown out by the court on some technical points. It is yet to be seen whether or not the government or any private party goes in appeal to the next higher forum against his acquittal.
