ABDULLAH MUSTAFVI
Lines drawn between the majoritarian Hindus and the oppressed Muslims are getting more deep in India with every passing day under Modi led BJP rule. Wave of protests against the controversial citizenship law across the India are exposing the real extremist side of India to the world. Top Bollywood star Naseer ud Din Shah , a staunch secular Indian , has eventually busted in anger by saying that after spending 70 years he had realized that living in India as a Muslim was not possible for him.
This statement is a slap on the face of Indian secularism which has breathed its last in the horrible grip of extremist RSS. After Kashmir, now, the Muslims all over India are frightened and harassed by none other than the government itself. In post 5th August scenario, Kashmir clampdown is not restricted only to curfew and communication shut down rather reports regarding illegal detention of Kashmiri youth in torture cells are further adding to the concerns of all impartial quarters. Though Pakistan is persistently exposing fascist ways of RSS influenced Indian ruling regime but still a lot has to be done to invite the attention of international community towards rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis in IOK.Communal hatred is one of the many negative identities of Indian society. Anti Muslim sentiment is deep rooted and its cancerous effects in various arteries of Indian socio- political body are not curable yet. Though, quite a good number of Indian intelligentsia believes in secular norms and vigorously fight case to strengthen the rapidly sinking values but impact of this weak resistance is too less to beat the heat of hatred . Why a case is being fought for the survival of secular values? Partial answer to this question is hidden in itself.
Wide scale ingress of fanatic Hindu extremist elements in many important state quarters has created sufficient reason for open minded intelligentsia to feel threatened and stand tall for the rights of oppressed ones. Victimization of the Muslims is too common as often reported by media. Rise of Modi to PM office was the biggest set back to secular norms in India. Rise of an extremist group like BJP to the highest decision making office gave birth to multiple concerns for Pakistan too. Hatred with Muslims is the brand identity of BJP. Hatred with Muslims and Pakistan are closely inter linked . Harsh treatment with Pakistanis visiting India has remained a common Phenomena. Prejudiced violent approach towards Pak artists is another strong reflection of BJP mind-set towards the Pakistanis. Inhuman treatment with Pak prisoners in Indian jails is the heinous by – product of infinite prejudice. One can imagine the fate of poor prisoners after seeing the violent acts of extremist elements against renowned artists and celebrities.
A horrible exposure of such acts surfaced on media once famous Indian film star OM Puri was murdered by extremist Hindu cult in highly mysterious way in 2017. His only crime was speaking against the rising tendency of anti- Pakistan and anti-Muslim mind-set. Three years back Indian lawyer Prof Bheem Singh Advocate filed a Petition about illegal detention of 254 Pakistani citizens in Indian jails. Surprisingly, Indian authorities openly violated the law of land and kept hundreds of Pakistani prisoners in jails for an alarmingly over stretched period. Reportedly these ill fated persons were under illegal custody without any proof of involvement in any kind of criminal activities. In response to the petition, a division bench of Indian Supreme Court took a toothless notice against abhorrent victimization of Pak citizens in the garb of legal prosecution. Court raised serious questions about the legal status of prolonged detentions. Worst part of the story was that many of the prisoners had completed the punishment, but their release was not possible as fate accomplice . Let’s hope that neutral intelligentsia in India will be able to put an end to such cruelties. Apparently, no expeditious change is expected in near future. Poisonous mind-set of Hindu extremists is still in full control of India. Their actions usually revolve around annihilation of Muslims and destruction of Pakistan.
Lives of 8 million Kashmiris are at stake . Only a vigorous pursuance and diplomatic pressure from Pak side can fetch something better out of existing hopeless scenario. It is a serious human rights issue and needs an equally matching reaction from all media quarters. Shadows of Indian dirty politics have deeply spoiled the bilateral relations to an extent that even routine communication between both neighbours seems impossible . While having a pathetic record of human rights violation , India never misses a chance to damage the Pak image with false accusation on international forums. Recent session of UNSC over Kashmir issue has sufficiently nullified India’s baseless stance of declaring Kashmir as its internal matter. Growing extremism in India is rapidly internationalising the Kashmir issue . It is about time to sensitize the world about future RSS’ designs of Muslim genocide in occupied Kashmir and rest of the India.
