PESAHWAR, December 23: General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has said that peace is restoring across the country and its credit goes to the sacrifices of the Pak Army and people,” he said.
General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), opened FATA Youth Festival on Wednesday, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Addressing the participants on the occasion, General Raheel Sharif announced construction of a cricket stadium in Khyber Agency. He said that the participation of a large number of people in the festival is the defeat of enemies of peace.
The army chief said today’s elegant ceremony symbolizes defeat of the enemy, adding that the journey of success would continue. The ceremony has become possible due to sacrifices of Pakistan army, law enforcement agencies and hard work of whole nation and sacrifices. He said that the nation is fighting war against terrorism from a long time, adding that the journey of our successes in this war is moving forward in form of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. He said the security forces are enjoying full backing and support of whole nation in these successes.
He said that the security situation in the country is far better than before. He said Pakistan is moving toward stability. He said the development projects including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor are the proof of sacrifices of armed forces, whole nation and especially the people of FATA.
“Peace is restoring across the country and its credit goes to the sacrifices of the Pak Army and people,” he said. The COAS said that the Economic Corridor is an important project of progress.
He said that the youth plays important role in success of every country, adding that the majority of Pakistani population is comprised of youth. He said youth is most precious investment of country. Army Chief said we will make all out efforts for provision of opportunities in all spheres of life to youth so that they could play their due role in prosperity of their native areas and country.
Army Chief said the latest sports complex will also be established in North Waziristn Agency. Army Chief said that our journey of durable peace will not only continue in tribal areas but also will continue in whole country. He said this depends upon the backing of whole nation and especially backing of youth. He said the whole nation has high hopes from the youth. Army chief said he is confident that the youth will not on only fulfill the aspirations of the nation but will also play vital role for the putting the country on the path of development.
Army chief assured the youth that the armed forces will never disappoint the youth.
Governor KPK Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbassi and Corps Commander Peshawar were also present on the occasion.-Sabah
